We all have different intrinsic values. Strong, sensible, inspiring, professional, modern… however they are described I have learnt that checking back to proven values is more sustainable than delivery based only on outcomes.
Great values are the foundation that will be reflected in the best of outcome.
I have high standards and struggle to deliver anything less. I lead as a collaborator who is realistic and professional. I am determined, brave, honest and passionate, but am a leaner who is patient and can reflect on what could have been different.
I am fair, polite, reasonable, open, loyal and see opportunity where others may not. I respect the rich experience of others to achieve co-production and partnerships to keep motivations interesting.
So what are my foundation values?
- Foster enjoyable development that will make individuals and groups interested and feel good about themselves. It’s great to smile and feel proud.
- Make a difference through tangible action based on fairness, openness and respect. Positive talk is great and encouraging, but what is the point if there is no impact?
- Respect good practice even if it is outwith the comfort zone. Society is an ever evolving experience and we need to be adaptable.
- Involve and respect everyone with an interest. Satisfaction comes from a collaborative mind set.
- Plan, agree, prepare, expect. Pressure from being unsure is never productive.
